Townhouse life

Down sizing from a house with a big garden into a two bedroom townhouse not far from the beach on the Gold Coast was a liberating choice. Weekends spent pulling weeds and mowing lawns are now spent walking the beach and riding my new wheels...a bright pink pushbike around the big park opposite. I sold most of the furniture that filled the house and took only what I needed to fill the new small digs.I kept to simple navy and white with splashes of green and turquoise....it's a happy little space now with my funky restored furniture, 2 bedrooms upstairs and a cute courtyard garden out the back.

The living room was in good condition with white floor tiles and a fresh paint job...easy just add a navy modular lounge and a few bits and pieces and it was good to go !

Second job was to take the kitchen from yuk brown laminate and tiles to white with navy accents, new timber bench tops and a paint job for the cabinets. All done for under $500.

The informal dining area is a cheerful space with an old whitewashed table and 4 IKEA hacked chairs re-covered in beach house navy striped fabric

This old sideboard with bright artwork fills a blank wall space

The most important thing on the checklist when looking for my townhouse was outdoor space, I was delighted to find this one had room for my pots and old recycled table and chair setting for 6 and was undercover for year round alfresco dining

The bedroom and guest bedroom upstairs have been kept simple in shades of blue and white

Happy town house living !
